Surgery is my true passion and I love my job. I was fortunate enough to be single minded about being a surgeon from a very early age. I worked hard to achieve my goals in due course with dedication and patience. I am senior General/ Colorectal surgeon working for the National Health Service (NHS) UK for the last 30 years.
I am a laparoscopic and key hole surgery enthusiast. I deal with both cancerous and benign bowel problems. I do complex bowel operations laparoscopically and have one of the lowest rate for keyhole to open conversions in the country. I also perform operations for conditions such as piles, constipation, incontinence and gall bladder stones.
My other area of speciality is hernia surgery. I deal with simple and complex abdominal wall hernias. These could be a result from previous abdominal surgery or hernias around stomas.
My ethos is to treat patients with dignity and the compassionate care that they deserve.
I am an examiner for the surgical MRCS exams. I am a referee for many medical journals including the British Journal of Surgery (BJS) , British Medical Journal (BMJ) and Colorectal Disease.
